The Amazing Adventures Of Spider-Man:
While touring the newsroom at The Daily Bugle, you have arrived just in time for the news scoop of the century. Dr. Octopus and his Evil Syndicate have stolen the Statue of Liberty! Using a special anti-gravity beam, they are beginning to make off with all of New York's famous landmarks. Mysteriously, the news staff including Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man) are all out of the office.
Driven city desk editor J. Jonah Jameson - a man who refuses to accept “no” for an answer - enlists the help of you and the rest of the touring visitors. You’ll need to get out there, track down the evildoers and get the story! In no time at all you are in way over your heads. Facing imminent doom, in swoops your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
This ride will leave you in awe of the absolute technical genius of it. When I first heard the description of what the ride was supposed to do, I said “Impossible.” Rather than leaving you with the same reaction, all I can tell you to do is ride it. Since it first opened, there hasn’t been a ride created at any park, anywhere in the world that has come even close to matching it. Winner of the prestigious “Top-Rated Attraction Award” by Theme Park Insider for seven years running, it has left ride designers baffled at how they will ever come up with something to challenge “Spidey.”
If you are not amongst the first people in the park, get an Express Pass IMMEDIATELY upon entering Islands of Adventure. If you don’t, I assure you they will run out!

The Incredible Hulk Coaster:
An accident has caused Dr. Bruce Banner’s gamma-ray accelerator to go wildly out of control. Their is no telling what will happen when “The Hulk” breaks loose!
On this monster roller coaster, you will feel the untamed fury of The Incredible Hulk from the moment the beast takes off. Rocketing from 0-40 in two seconds as you shoot up the gamma ray accelerator tube to begin the ride, it does an immediate inverted dive just to let you know that “The Hulk” is in control now. With top speeds of 67 miles-per-hour, seven inversions and two underground dives, this roller coaster will have you hanging on for dear life!
Although an Express Pass is available for this ride and it is highly acclaimed as one of the world’s best roller coasters, the lines really aren’t that bad because many people are too scared to ride it! Or as my wife Karen says, “some of us have more sense than others” (and people say that “chickens” can’t talk).

Doctor Doom’s Fearfall:
In an evil experiment meant to harness all of the world’s fear, Doctor Doom has created this diabolical device. Once he has control of global fear, he plans on using it to terrorize all who oppose him. How much fear will he be able to extract from you?
This ride catapults park visitors 150 feet into the sky before sucking them all the way down to earth at speeds faster than gravity. Although an Express Pass is available for this attraction, there are generally not inordinately huge crowds lining up for this ride. Maybe a lot of people would just like to keep their fears to themselves!

The Inside Spin
- The Adventures Of Spider-Man was the first and is still the only ride in theme park history to combine moving vehicles, 3-D film and live action into one incredibly synchronized attraction.
- At one point on The Adventures Of Spider-Man ride, guests experience the sensation of falling 400 feet. In all actuality, the ride vehicles do not drop at all!
- In front of Doctor Doom’s Fearfall, look for the imprints of bodies in the pavement.
It is amazing to me how many people tell me that they didn't experience The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman during their visit to Universal's Islands of Adventure - even after I have told them that it is an absolute Must Do ride! Their reason is always the same - the line was too long and the park had run out of Express Passes.
If there is no other reason to get an Orlando car rental, The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman is reason enough. Having an Orlando car rental will give you an opportunity to be at the park early enough to get an Express Pass or to be the first to ride it.
