There’s a little bit of something for everyone at Innoventions. Divided into two separate halves - Innoventions East and Innoventions West - this Future World pavilion showcases a variety of vendors’ latest cutting edge technology products. The Innoventions pavilion is usually the place that teenagers name as their favorite part of EPCOT.

Innoventions West:

Thinkplace: Here, you can send a picture post card of your Orlando vacation to friends and family back home, go on an interactive virtual tour of Russia’s Hermitage Museum and explore the latest in voice recognition technology. The centerpiece attraction at Thinkplace is a large multiplayer video game where players must work together to build a machine before competing against one another for treasure.

Orlando Car Rental Travel Guide - Interactive game at InnoventionsUltimate Home Theater Experience: Showcasing the latest in high definition TV, programmable lighting and surround sound technology, this Innoventions West exhibit shows how you can truly create a state-of-the-art home entertainment system.

The Great American Farm: This interactive exhibit is where Orlando car rental cutomers can learn everything that’s involved in getting food to their tables from the farm.

Rockin’ Robots: Here, park guests can direct four robotic arms - Cicerob, Norbot, Delbot and Herbot - in a “musical” symphony. The arms play percussion instruments such as cymbals, a car horn, a wood crate and chimes. This Innoventions West exhibit shows the important roles that robots play in our every day lives.

Tom Morrow’s Playground: Compete in a dance marathon with some of your favorite Disney characters, become an action figure in a video game and even meet a robotic dog at Tom Morrow’s Playground. This interactive kiosk utilizes the latest in digital video screens, enhanced audio and artificial intelligence to provide a great Orlando vacation experience for the whole family!

Where’s the Fire?: Especially recommended for families, this is the largest fire prevention exhibit in the United States. Equipped with special flashlights, see if your team can find all of the fire hazards in a six room home. Children under 5 will learn and have fun at the Play It Safe Maze, where they will learn how to exit a house during a fire. There’s even an interactive game room house for the older set at this Innoventions West exhibit.

Innoventions East:

Welcome Center featuring the Segway HT: Throughout Future World, you will see Disney Cast Members zipping about on these personal transport devices that utilize the latest in gyroscope and tilt sensor technology. Learn more about these new devices and see them demonstrated by Cast Members, here.

Fantastic Plastic Works: Divided into three sections, this section of Innoventions East offers the following experiences:

  • The Magic of Plastics is where you can learn about the different compounds that affect the type of plastic that is manufactured. Play “connect the chemical dots” and see what is produced.

  • The Design Studio lets you design your own robot that will then compete in a virtual road race.

  • The Manufacture and Create Zone is where you can watch robots mold and put together another robot that can then be taken home with you as a souvenir of your Orlando vacation.

  • The House of Innoventions: Go on a short, fifteen minute tour of the house of the future at this Innoventions East exhibit. Discover the latest product offerings from manufacturers like Whirlpool and Kitchenaid and be sure to check out the ultimate in luxury baths - the La Scala Bathing and Entertainment Center by Jacuzzi - which combines a whirlpool bath with the latest in surround sound technology and a 43-inch plasma high definition television.

You can even take a crack at filming a commercial, which you can then E-mail home, at the Creating the Buzz center.

Test the Limits Lab: This attraction allows visitors to act as Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. engineers, performing various product safety tests on items. Drop a safe from a three story building, smash a hammer into a television screen, even drop a fifty-five gallon drum onto a fireman’s helmet. Children and teens think this is just the coolest exhibit!

    Did You Know?

  • As part of the opening ceremonies for EPCOT in 1982, countries from all around the world were invited to bring samples of their nations’ water and pour them into the fountains outside of Innoventions as a display of peace and community.

  • The fountains outside of the Innoventions pavilion are a favorite spot for taking pictures of your Orlando vacation. If all of the 302 nozzles in the fountain were to shoot water simultaneously, there would be more than 2,000 gallons of water in the air.

  • This place is HUGE! There is so much to see and do here, you might be tempted to just drive your Orlando car rental into the place! (Especially since, 9-11, this course of action might meet with quite an unfavorable reaction, I would imagine.). This is also an excellent building to head to when it rains. By the time you finish, it will likely be sunny again (or the next day already). If you haven't done so yet, you can reserve your Orlando car rental here.
