Orlando Car Rental Travel Guide - Camp Minnie-Mickey

Orlando Car Rental Travel Guide - Mickey & Goofy at Camp Minnie-MickeyCamp Minnie-Mickey is one of the theme park’s favorite areas. There are two wonderful stage shows here that are sure to delight all members of your party. In addition, there is no better place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to meet your favorite Disney characters - all dressed in safari gear and waiting to sign autographs and pose for Orlando vacation photos.

Festival Of The Lion King:

Orlando Car Rental Travel Guide - Disney's Animal Kingdom Festival of the Lion KingJoin Simba, Timon, Pumba and friends in this world-class show, which is one of the most popular attractions in the Orlando vacation area. Acrobatic monkeys, a high-flying aerial ballet and some of the most colorful costuming you will ever see make this an absolute Must See for anyone visiting the theme park.

More than fifty performers join Audio-animatronic characters in this retelling of the story of The Lion King. Although the show is performed in one of Walt Disney World’s largest indoor auditoriums, the 1,375 seat theater is frequently unable to hold the massive throng of park guests who line up to see this fabulous stage presentation. Don’t be surprised if you are waiting forty-five minutes to an hour to be seated for the nearly thirty minute extravaganza which features your favorite songs from the popular movie with a few new ones thrown in as well.

Pocahontas And Her Forest Friends:

Orlando Car Rental Travel Guide - Pocahontas And Her Forest FriendsAmazing trained animals, Audio-animatronic characters and Pocahontas, herself, perform in this show that focuses on the importance of preserving our forests. The music from the popular Disney movie serves as a wonderful backdrop to the touching presentation.

Check your park map carefully and you will see that some of the performances of this show are designated as “training shows.” Don’t be surprised if things don’t always go as expected during these shows as they focus on demonstrating how the furry little actors learn their roles and responsibilities in the show.

Be forewarned; this is another presentation where park guests may have to wait for more than one show to finish before being seated in the small 400 seat theater. Fortunately, the waiting times between the twelve minute shows are brief.

A Little Birdie Told Me ...

  • Don’t forget to stop by the Character Greeting Trails before leaving this section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is one of the best opportunities to get Orlando vacation pictures taken with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh and other Disney favorites. Each of the trails is labeled with the names of the characters that you will find there.

  • On the walk toward Camp Minnie-Mickey, keep your eyes (and ears) open for Herb and Flora - two talking bushes. They occasionally talk to park guests and make hilarious comments about others as they pass by.

  • If lines for these two popular shows or for character pictures and autographs are too terribly long, just skip them and come back later. Many Orlando car rental customers visit other popular attractions at Dinsey's Animal Kingdom in the morning, leave the park (taking a break in the afternoon) and return around five or six o'clock. Usually, lines for all three attractions in Camp Minnie-Mickey have abated considerably by the late afternoon/early evening hours.
